Good sign that Beauty has been in and around the nest box so much this morning (I don't know if that is a statement or a question
Could she possibly be getting ready to lay an egg? Just asking...

She seems mighty restless just in the 20 minutes I've been watching her.

Conventional wisdom states that it takes 3 weeks to re-cycle after a failed nest. But adherence to conventional wisdom has surely been absent this season...

But when does that three week period begin? Those eggs were do late...is it three weeks from the disposal of the last egg, or is it three weeks from the original hatch date of 33-34 days?

The first adult I saw do this was Clara in San Jose...it looks awfully uncomfortable, but then I'm not a bird...

She is in the NB now. It looks like she is digging another scrape. She was even laying on her chest using her feet to push the stone out of the way. Maybe we will get a second chance at some babies this year. Anyone know how soon after copulation she is able to lay an egg?
