One needs to make their own luck.

Series of events:

Went to UB on Sat - > met Roch Peepers -> Told of Banding -> went to CT -> met Sage/Roger -> introduced to DEC by Sage -> Sage told me that "they" were letting people up -> Went in -> No one there (they went up 10 mins earlier) -> Took a chance on a stairwell I found -> Ran up 6 flights in a dark and extremely dusty stairwell -> Stopped to hack and cough -> ran up a flight -> thought I was going to die (thought of not being found as my heart was pumping and coughing) -> ran up 2 more flights (more thoughts of death) -> listened for voices (had no idea what floor it was on) - nothing -> walked then ran up more flights -> heard a sound above me -> more flights -> then saw the group as I peeked around a corner -> Assisted when asked.

See I made my own luck.   2thumbsup

hahaha!  Carl had a wonderful weekend!  I think we have an avid new pefa fan!   wub2

These two little girls will be glad to entertain pefa watchers for the next few weeks, then thrill you when they exchange the safety of the nest box for that big world outside!  Our Rochester friends have been up close and personal during watches, searches and rescues!  Dana got to return one to a roof!

Note to Carl: This is the time of year to have a blanket or large towel, leather gloves, spray bottle of water in a rescue box in your vehicle!   And the DEC phone numbers: Buffalo numbers - Peregrine Falcons and other raptors - Call DEC 716-851-7010 to report Peregrines in trouble or 800-847-7332 for a DEC Officer.   Wink

Met a lot of really nice and dedicated people this past weekend.

Thanks Sage.  I'll go to Petsmart or our vet and ask for a box.

Please check your FB mail as I want to chat with you regarding some ideas and doing a meet-up to get some local watchers in the mix - Friends in Rochester always welcome.

MAK - can we leverage your 2010 Fledge Watch Brochure? as a foundation education packet for any folks we have here - phone number could be updated.  Do you have it on Word format?

Anyway... back to watching and working. Wink

If your puzzled by the brochure comment, I'm referring to this one.  This must of been created by some program - Word, MS Publisher, etc....  and made into a .pdf.

I'm looking for the original so I can "leverage" (update with Buffalo area DEC contact numbers, etc...).  Otherwise, I'll need to recreate it from scratch.

Any update to it would be stored here for future use - revision.

That was created by the rfalconcam committee...perhaps one of the mods can contact Carl directly for further discussion...
