Watched it for the first time last night.  I'm a tough critic, but it did have some pretty good moments.  I didn't know that Mama would feed the deceased to the other chicks.  It was also interesting that only experienced adults winter over in the Tundra.  I'll watch it again.   foxbinocs

I watched it yesterday also and wow, MAK for-warned me about the mom feeding the baby to the others. I loved how she looked at the little weak one with such concern then went over and brooded it. Sad   A special moment indeed. Was  really well made and I'll keep it on my DVR for future viewing!

I admit I bailed out on the segment when the youngest started failing. I had a feeling the mother would do that with scarcity of food.

It was very well done. Who knew an owl would voluntarily swim?

That part stunned the camera crew also!  Shocked

I know they CAN-we've seen eagles do it when they had to-but to intentionally jump in to get to the other side? And at their age? Must be something they actually do all the time. just never seen before.

Learn something new every day...
