It would be really nice if somebody would get that egg out of there.

I agree Pat.

They didn't go up and band last year remember?  Because there was only one they said they would band only if he came to ground.

He came to ground on July 8th and was banded the next day before being released back to the roof.

Yes, but surely they could have taken the egg out after the season was over.  Roll Eyes

Yup, you got me there MAK.  No idea what is going on as far as removing the egg.  Cost issue maybe?  I don't know how accessible the ledge is?  If it requires a swing stage, I know the cost used to be approximately $1,500.00 to rent the stage which includes 2 licensed people to take them up there.  Is it accessible without a swing stage?  I would like to say no it's not but I am not sure of that, would have to ask someone from CPF.

That ledge is actually accessed through a hatch in a conference room behind the camera. But they do still need a properly geared up person and may need someone from MNR to do it. From what I gather they aren't calling on MNR unless it's urgent due to the costs.

Actually, there is a peep hole behind the nest box and cameras in an equipment room. During banding, a few years ago, they accessed the ledge from the far end. No swing stage was used.

Well you would think one of the falcons would take it out of there. Archer rolled his and Beautys' bad egg off the deck and to the ground in 2011. I'll never forget watching that on cam and then finding the broken, empty egg on the sidewalk. At any rate, I would hate to see Rhea Mae and Tiago waste their efforts on incubating that egg along with any they have this year.  Sad

Thanks ladies.  I knew one of either the King St or Sheraton ledges was accessible from Linda's old story about bringing food up there when WW had both sites but couldn't remember which one it was she was assisting at the time.

I suspect it will turn to dust if they try to incubate it.

She was assisting Wind at the Sheraton after WW chose to help raise his young at King St.
