The Gannett Building, which houses the local newspaper the Democrat and Chronicle, is for sale. So sad and a sign of the times. This building is next to the Times Square Building

Kind of an icon, I knew when I saw that building, I was getting close to the Kodak Tower back in 2006!

I hear it may go condo, so if you want to spend 24/7 with the falcons and the Phillipone building isn't classy enough for you, go with Gannett!

Oh yeah! A few units in the Phillipone building are already occupied, and I think construction is done now. I've seen a couple of the owners walking their small dogs in Aqueduct Park.

Mind you, I could never live in the Phillipone building. It's not exactly my favorite architectural style, but more importantly, I worked in that building for five years. Too many memories, mostly unpleasant. My commute to work at my present job would be very easy, though!

The Philipone building is all converted and the street floor is going to be a retail business. I too, have seen people living there walking their dogs. I talked to a few of the workers over the summer and I was told at that time the first tenant was moved in and they told me how much per month-kinda pricey.
