Dot.Ca video-swooping on Beauty

I took this video from the top of the South Ave. garage this morning. It goes in and out of focus but it gives you an idea of what it looks like to see DC swooping on Beauty at the nest box.

For how long does DC do that swooping?   I know he's been at it throughout the day, but does each period of swooping last just a few minutes like the video, or for longer periods of time? 
Looks like an intimidation factor. 
Has anyone seen this behavior at other nest box sites?

Margaret, this is the longest session I've witnessed yet. The video doesn't show all of it-I think there were upwards of 20 swoops altogether. I also saw a session where he swooped on her only twice this morning.

I personally think that the is just making his presence known.

Beauty was not receptive to him th e other day and he is just saying, hey, this is mine also

Just watched your video, MAK. Very interesting to see DC swooping; still not sure exactly why he is doing this to Beauty.

So tired in fact, that he got a little shut eye over at BS afterwards.

YES!  I thought it was just me.  I was watching it for the first time this afternoon and I was feeling sea sick!  Not kidding.
