Eyas #2 Arrived at 1:45 pm This Afternoon!

Lots of falcon fans were on Rfalconcam’s streaming video when our 2nd eyas arrived! Dot.ca had just arrived with food and he and Beauty were both there to see their 2nd eyas break out of its egg. So awesome!

OMG, I just realized that was the palest egg! It hatched! #2 is a miracle baby, surviving the intrusions by the intruder.

  2. Alison in Indiana Says:

Three eggs were laid after the intruder was beaten off and two of them hatched (one cracked – that could have been the one laid just after the aerial battles and less time for mating).
The color of an eggshell gives no indication of the viability of its contents, just as the nutrition of white and brown chicken eggs is the same. I never doubted that the last egg was viable, it got excellent care immediately.
