Pip Pip Hooray! 4/26/25

Nova and Neander’s eggs are showing signs of the eyases inside hatching! What we call a PIP! It’s bittersweet, but very happy news! Nova stood up from the eggs to take food that New Guy brought in for her. We got our first really good look at the eggs.

There are good size pips in the darker egg and the white egg. These were the first two eggs that Nova laid. There also appears to be the start of a pip in the third egg.

We’ll keep watching and report updates.

Oh, it will be wonderful if all three eggs hatch.

Thanks for this good news, Carol, although as you said, it’s bittersweet. I am happy that Nova seems to be accepting New Guy, as this gives the eyases a much better start in life! Great pictures of the “pips”!

How nice that they are so different in color that we know the order in which they were laid. Of course, once there are three fluff balls, we will hardly be able to tell them apart.
