Falcon Watch Summary from 8/31 – 9/5/08
Watchers for this week included: Kathy O, Lisa McK, Joyce, Jeanne, Larry O, Dana, Lou and Carol P.
Lots of Watchers out and about on this beautiful week. The weather was more summerlike than it’s been during August.
Mariah and Kaver did not disappoint their team of Watchers. They were seen all over the city of Rochester, including their favorite spots, the First Federal Plaza and Midtown Plaza. Other reported sightings on the Bausch and Lomb Bldg, the communication tower (south of the Kodak Tower) and only one sighting on the Kodak Tower itself (Kaver on the 19th floor – north side).
No juvie sightings reported. It was great to hear that Quest has been seen again on Cape Cod and that there were more pictures. Wonderful news!

When do Mariah and Kaver usually leave for their southerly migrations, or do they stay in Rochester during winter too?

Maureen – Mariah stays in Rochester throughout the Winter and Kaver takes off usually in the beginning of November. We have no idea where Kaver goes from November to February, when he returns to Rochester. – Carol P.

Interesting – thank you. So do you think it is possible that Quest could stay on the Cape for the winter? Or is she too young to make it thru and will need to fly elsewhere in order to survive her first winter?

Good question. I guess if there is plentiful supply of food for her, she might stay. Since she has a transmitter, we’ll hopefully be able to follow her travels over the Winter months. Should be interesting. – Carol P.

So M&K are still around, huh…good to hear. Will they be here till the snow falls? Wonder where the other juvies are. Thanks for the report.
