While we were working on the cameras this afternoon, I spoke with Jenny from the DEC about Luzerne. Jenny told us that Luzerne was found on the sidewalk next to the Seneca Towers. Due to the trauma found on her body, it looked like she hit the building.
I thought everyone would like to know.

Thanks Jenny and Carol-at least we don't have to wonder anymore.

Oh that poor girl! So so so sad! Now we have a whole new pair!! Things can change quickly in a Peregrines world!
Carol, did Jenny say anything about a possible nest for that site?

I have a pic of the left leg band of Mr. Yellow Tape
He does not have a name as I tracked his identity down-he hails from an undisclosed site near Rochester as the DEC only banded them and didn't give names. I believe he was mistaken for a female.
This is what I found on a list I had saved of known Rochester birds that are still alive
Yellow female 99/BA B/G yellow May-13 Rochester, NY

And now I don't feel so bad when I recall that a week ago yesterday, when I saw them almost side by side on the north window ledge, I couldn't see a marked size difference. Apparently 99/BA is fairly large. correct?

He's smaller than Billie from pics I've gotten of the two of them in close proximity.
I have 2 more pics that show the B more clearly than the original pic I posted.
