Watchers Weekend 2014
«
on:

So now that the 4 little darlings have hatched we should probably start thinking about Watchers Weekend.
They will likely be flying by the end of June. So one week later, which is 7/5 & 7/6? Or the following week 7/12 & 7/13? Or???
I think 7/12 & 7/13 is Corn Hill weekend. That didn't interfere last year. Just food for thought.
So what do you all think?

Later is better. Last year was too early. They had only just fledged and there wasn't much action yet. Would love to see flight lessons & food exchanges!

Last year they hatched a week later so it was around 7 weeks old. It's early so check my math but 7/12 & 7/13 should be 8 weeks old.

Corn Hill is fun, too. I took a side trip over there last year while nothing much was going on with the falcons.

Later is better-I'm not available July 3-6. I have to animal sit in paradise that weekend.

I would vote for earlier (7/5-7/6), but just for personal reasons. I will be out of town on the weekend of 7/11-7/12, but I might be able to make it for part of the next weekend (7/19-7/20). Majority rules, I guess.

Besides the Corn Hill Festival there must be a big something going on there! Hotels are mostly sold out the weekend of 7/11-13! I know date isn't decided yet-just an observation.

Is it just the downtown hotels, or are the suburban ones mostly sold out too?

I found rooms at the Rochester Plaza & Hyatt. Only the Radisson was sold out. Kayak found rooms at the suburban ones too.
Jehovah's Witness conventions again.

Actually their website shows 07/04, 07/18, 07/25. Probably some carryover between weeks.
