Minus 9 degrees (F) this morning in Rochester, NY, aka the Flower/Flour City. Windchill of 22 below Zero! The good news is not much of a wind and no new snow! Woohoo! The roads are in good shape this morning, but there are some icy spots. Bundle up and keep warm if you have to wander out today!

Wow! It's 7 degrees ABOVE Zero! It's a heatwave!
The roads were clear down to pavement on my ride into work today. Sorry to say more cold and snow heading our way.
Enjoy the day!

Then on perch in front of nest box and then up onto the roof of the nest box.
When I flipped over to the Toronto Sheraton nest site, I caught both Rhea Mae and Tiago bowing at their nest tray.

Sure, it figures. I finally get an office with a window that looks out to the south side of OCSR, and Beauty and Dot.ca go to the north side of OCSR and the nestbox.
I'm hearing birds outside my window, though. The crows have been cawing constantly this morning.

Carol P! I have been watching all day, thinking that just MAYBE someone would turn up, in spite of the weather!!! Jealous! Then again... as I am not braving the Arctic temps and conditions, you deserve this more than I do!!

Hi Bobbie!
I've been checking out the archive pics in hope of getting a glimpse of Beauty or Dot.ca at the nest box. Imagine my surprise when one popped in for a visit!
and then seeing both Rhea Mae and Tiago bowing at their nest tray. That certainly made my day!

Oh, look! It's 7 ABOVE Zero again! This morning, the roads were snow covered and slippery. Not like yesterday when the pavement was showing. We had about 3-4 inches overnight and we are again under a wind chill warning. Dress warmly and be careful if you have to go out in this frigid weather!
... WIND CHILL WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM EST FRIDAY...
* LOCATIONS... WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL NEW YORK.
* TIMING... THROUGH LATE FRIDAY MORNING.
* WINDS... WEST 10 TO 20 MPH.
* WIND CHILL VALUES... 15 TO 20 BELOW TODAY... THEN DROPPING TO 25 TO 40 BELOW ZERO TONIGHT AND FRIDAY MORNING.
* IMPACTS... DANGEROUS COLD AND POTENTIALLY LIFE THREATENING WIND CHILLS WILL BE POSSIBLE BY THURSDAY NIGHT. THIS COULD LEAD TO FROSTBITE AND HYPOTHERMIA IF YOU ARE NOT DRESSED PROPERLY.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A WIND CHILL WARNING IS ISSUED WHEN A STRONG WIND WILL COMBINE WITH COLD TEMPERATURES TO CREATE DANGEROUSLY COLD CONDITIONS FOR EXPOSED SKIN. THE WIND WILL MAKE IT FEEL LIKE IT IS 25 DEGREES BELOW ZERO OR COLDER FOR SEVERAL HOURS. THOSE PLANNING TO VENTURE OUTDOORS SHOULD USE COMMON SENSE AND DRESS WARMLY.

It must be hard to bond at the nestbox when it looks like this.

Minus 6 degrees (F)! It's a record low for Rochester, NY!
Hey, as long as we're going to get that low, we might as well break the record, which was -4 in 1934. The windchill is currently -26 degrees.
It was mighty cold walking into work today. The roads are snow covered & slippery and the salt is doing nothing to melt it. Be very careful if you have to go out this morning. Have a wonderful day!
