From the CMNH forum...Chad & Chris...

Joyce, you mentioned past Easter battles in Rochester-- well, we had one here today. They drove out a first-year female with Cheyenne taking on the main role as attacker. We'll describe more and post some photos tomorrow night (as it's too late again)!

CMNH forum

Never thought that the Easter battles would continue with a Rochester Falcon and not in Rochester.

Just posted by Chad & Chris on the CMNH forum

Thanks to you both, Dumpsterkitty and Joyce-- appreciate you providing a link to CMNH for this great website that they host!

Catching up from yesterday-- here are some pics of Cheyenne and Seneca with their first egg. The first shot shows Cheyenne on one of his favorite perches to the right of the nest as Seneca is in the nest. We didn't know there was an egg up there and couldn't see it here, but then Cheyenne flew up later and rolled it out from behind the concrete mound (in the next four shots). The last two shots show Seneca with the egg...

Oh my!  She looks so much like Mariah!

Great pics and thanks for posting, as I can't see the page. I'm kind of worried about the nest...there's really no gravel and nothing to hold the eggs in place. This is concerning, especially for a new mom like Seneca. Any thoughts on this?

Thanks Ei

It certainly isn't ideal, but it looks like there's enough stuff up there to keep the eggs from rolling too far.  Remember, before the neat little nest boxes we're used to they regularly nested on almost bare rock ledges-still do in most cases-we just don't get to see it.

C&C are doing a great job photographing Our Little Girl.  clap Does someone have the main cam image of Mariah talons down encouraging Seneca to get out of the nest box?
