4/19/25 Falcon Pics - Morning

Neander injured his left leg yesterday. See Imprints.

Nova was on the eggs overnight. She left at 6:06 am

Neander came in at 6:11 am. and then onto the eggs to incubate. So happy to see you Neander!

At 6:41 am, Neander stood up and left. Nova returned to the eggs a few minutes later.

The Eggs

At 7:50 am, Neander returns to the nest box platform. Shortly after he arrives, it starts raining, hard, with some thunder boomers.

When it starts raining, Neander joins Nova in the nest box.

9:59 am. Neander arrived on the nest box platform, Nova on eggs.

10:32 am. Neander is back inside the nest box with Nova. And gone!

4/19/25 Falcon Pics - Afternoon

We have an intruder in the area that Neander has been trying to chase out of th area. More than likely another male. Verified by Brian H.

Neander back on the eggs at 12:17 pm.

1:19 pm. Neander stands up, leaves. Nova back on eggs.

At 4:44 pm, Nova alarm kakked and took off. Neandercame into the nest box from the platform. He struggled to go into the nest box, using his wings for support and balance. He laid on the eggs with his wings spread, mantling. After a little while, he pulled in his wings and slept, while incubating the eggs.

5:56 pm - Nova returned. Neander got a good, long nap. After leaving, I believe Neander landed on the Wilder Chimney.

Well I think we all knew there was an intruder but good to know for sure. Hope he moves on quickly!

4/20/25 Falcon Pics

The Eggs

Nova was on the eggs overnight.

At 7:51 am, Neander finally came into the nest box. He had a bit of trouble covering all 3 eggs, but he finally did it. Thank goodness there are only three eggs!

During this time, I was downtown for my Easter morning Falcon watch. Nova spent most of her time on the south end of th Cross Rds Bldg. She started alarm kakking and took off chasing off a juvie Bald Eagle. She also took off a few times looking like she was in hunt mode, but we never saw her get anything. I really wanted to see her and Neander with food, but it didn't happen.

At 9:42 am, Nova returned and Neander left.

I watched Neander take off and fly towards the Wilder Bldg. He landed nicely on the Wilder Chimney landing on both feet.

During the time Neander was on the Wilder Chimney, he started ee chupping. I looked up and saw a 3rd falcon coming in from the north an slowly circling above the Times Square Bldg. Neander did not go after this Falcon that I'm pretty sure was a juvie. The juvie Falcon continued circling and flew south down following the river. I believe the juvie only showed interest because s/he heard and saw Neander.

At 11:31 am, Neander left the Wilder Chimney.

At 12:21 pm, Neander is back on the eggs.

1:24 pm. Neander out. Nova in. He flew over to the Wilder Chimney.

Neander is now on top of main camera, Nova on the eggs. 4:40 pm.

6:16 pm. Nova out, Neander in.

At 8:06 pm, Nova returned and Neander got up very stiffly using his wings for support. He took off heading towards Wilder after a very long rest. Almost 2 hrs on the eggs snoozing.

The Eggs

Dana shared a video this morning. Just before 6 am, Neander brought in a little piece of food for Nova. She took it and he limped into the nest box, barely using his wings. He settled quickly on his three eggs. I believe he is improving nicely! Thanks Dana!

At 7:13 am, Neander left and Nova came back in.

4:30 pm. I believe Neander is currently on top of the Wilder Chimney. You have to zoom in to see him.

There's Neander! Thanks for moving the camera over there Shaky!

From 6:47 - 8:13 pm, Neander was over at the Powers nest box. It rained pretty hard during that time.

4/22/25 Falcon Pics

VERY LOUD PEEPS HEARD ON THE LIVE STREAM!

The Eggs

Last night at 11:50 pm, Neander landed on the nest box platform and Nova left the nest box.

At 11:54 pm, Neander entered the nest box and laid on the eggs.

At 2:20 am, Nova returned to the nest box platform.

At 2:35 am, Neander got up. It was so nice to see him get a really long nap while incubating the eggs and giving Nova a long break. Nova back on the eggs at 2:36 am.

Nova

At 8:18 am, Neander came in to check on Nova to take a turn on the eggs. She did not want to leave, so he did. Before that, he was on the Wilder Chimney.

At 1:21 pm. Neander again landed on the platform.

From 2:27 - 2:49 pm, Neander was again on the platform. Again Nova would not leave.

From 3:22 pm to 3:34 pm, when they both left.

At 3:35 pm, both back. Nova on the eggs and Neander on top of Cam 4. At 3:39 pm, Neander left. 4:16 pm, Neander there for a moment. So much Neander activity.  Yay!!!

At 6:05 pm, he left at 7:56pm. Nova took a quick break and came back on the eggs. You can really hear them peeping!

Our next egg shift chart! There are fewer Neander shifts since his injury on Friday. He's still limping a bit but otherwise seems well. We are also approaching the hatch window so that may be in playing a part in his reduced shifts. Stay tuned!

Thanks Ei! Interesting to see how his incubation times have changed since his injury.

Thanks!! It will be interesting to see the 4/22 bar start with Neander on the eggs.
