Bloor Islington
I saw something today I've never seen in my decade or so of falcon watching. D'arcy was perched on one of the building signs and under her on the glass I saw this massive lump of a dark bird and it was hunched over like it was eating something..and I thought what the heck is that???. Then Lucky came around the tower and startled it and it flew up and it was Turkey Vulture eating food from their cache right under her nose. Lucky chased it off but he/she came back a few minutes later with a friend and when I left to go back inside they were doing donuts around the building.

First egg for D'arcy and Lucky laid last night around 9 pm while she was under aerial assault by who I believe is Aria returned. Long story...but I spent 3 hours on site last night watching this play out.
Not sure how this will end but suffice to say it's a similar scenario to what played out last year with Cadence in New Jersey using a similar strategy. This female however is much larger and Lucky isn't as weak as the NJ male so we'll see. Aria certainly surprised me yesterday, I knew she was a great flier but she took it to an whole new level last night.
Will keep you posted when I can. Judging from reactions on cam already this morning I suspect Aria is back at it.

Aria is using Mondelez (West Tower) as her base. She was resting there when I went out again and she's now strafing the ledge hard. D'darcy is more aggressive this morning - no doubt as the egg is out and there is much more to play for now. She went out and challenged her directly in the air - it's more of a cat and mouse game at this point but I know that can change at any moment.

I feel so bad for Aria..wish she would move on because this is probably not going to end well if she doesn’t.

She just attacked Lucky, he almost hit the glass! She landed next to him on the west tower and she keeps talking to him like she's still his mate and I guess she's mad because he's not helping her. he flew off and she went after him and swooped on him and he almost hit the glass!
This is weird, I wish I could positively ID her as Aria was never this aggressive but the voice and behavior are the same save for the swooping...but we know whose genes those are!
