yahoo yahoo  From the Hamilton Web site!!   bow bow

LONESOME NO MORE!!

Friday, May 31, 2013 - Around 05:47 this morning Madame X took a break, allowing the camera to clearly see that Chick No. 2 had arrived. Judging from the relatively tidy condition of the second youngster's feathers, it was hatched several hours before. The photo at left is the first view available - the two remaining eggs and pieces of No. 2's shell can also be seen; the one at right shows them about two hours later, moved more into the centre of the scrape and cuddling up. Stay tuned!!

From CPF:

!!! Second Hatch for Madame X and Surge!!
May 31, 2013 - Hamilton - Sheraton Hotel
Kathy Reports:

What exciting news for Madame X and Surge and all the Hamilton fans!!  A second egg has hatched overnight!

There was almost 3 days between the laying of Egg 1 and 2 and the weather being damp and wet, full on incubation likely started earlier than usual hence the delay between egg hatching..that’s the story I’m going with!  Smiley

Congratulations Hamilton!!!

When I checked the site a little earlier, I didn't expect to find a second chick! Incredible! Seven full days after the first chick hatched. I am so happy for Madame X and Surge (parents of Durand in Columbus, Gleig in Buffalo and Pigott in Rochester, among others). I hope the tiny chick will do well.

Yesterday evening there was still one chick:

Looks as if something is happening with the egg on the left:

This morning: a brand new tiny chick.

That's a long time between hatches, hope the little one will be OK having such a huge sibling! WOW!! Let the miracles keep happening!

Burlington Fledge Watch Scaled Back and All is Great!
June 12, 2013 - Burlington - Lift Bridge

Tracy Simpson Reports:

The Burlington Fledge Watch was official dialled down to spot checks this past Sunday June 9th and what a great adventure it was.  Three rescues were performed by Bill and Barry over the 9 days of the watch; two for Hadfield and one for Sarah.  Lancaster was the first to go and has been somewhat of a superstar earning the nickname “Rocket Man” for his efforts.  Cirrus and MacKensie were quite outstanding in their assist flight escorts of the juveniles and put on an amazing show of parenthood.  With this Watch now closed for the season, I wanted to thank everyone who made this such a success.  I would like to offer up a big thank you to the Burlington Lift Bridge staff for all of your support in the rescues and releases.   I would also like to thank Bill and Sue, Barry and Linda, David, Rob and Paul for your time and efforts as well as Sean for alerting us to Hadfield’s flight out of the beam to the roadway.  Bill’s recent spot check of the foursome sounded like an awesome experience with Mom, Dad and three kids “ripping up the skies” and Sarah watching from a tower roof until it was her turn.  Congratulations Burlington on a job well done!
