Of the ones available to view this morning, I like #46 the best. I wonder if it would be proper/feasible to include the Kodak Tower in the background...
Lots of the others show a lot of imagination and work, but (in my TOTALLY subjective opinion of course) remind me of USPS and team logos.

My current favorites are:
#47. I love the Rochester buildings but am not crazy about the orange font. Perhaps the falcon part could be in a brighter color like red and the R and cam could be black.
#45. I'd like it better without the bottom fading out, but the stylized face on the "M" is really cool. I wonder if this would show up well enough on merchandise.
#36 with the beautiful clean lines. I'd prefer the text at the bottom, though, rather than off to the side.
#40, which for some reason brings Kaver to mind.

I'd like to add my 2 cents to what Lou said about the comments. These designers have spent a considerable amount of money on not only the software but on the education to make these designs. Furthermore, art is in the eyes of the beholder and constructive criticism goes much further than down- grading comments. Please be mindful of the time and effort put into these logos. Contrary to what some believe, it's not a simple task and not just anyone can do this. You need to have knowledge of typography, fonts, transferability to different applications, etc. If we continue this type of attitude we will scare off people from wanting to design our new logo. After all, the more we have to choose from the better as far as I'm concerned. That said, I'd like to wish everyone a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Many thanks to all that have taken the time to check out the logos being offered by some very talented artists. Keep checking for new ones, and let us know which are your favorites.
We really appreciate your feedback.

I like numbers 55-58, but they're similar to #33, which was my initial preference.

I've gone back and re-reviewed the entries and tried to narrow them down to instant impact, and what could be used on wearable merchandise, and yet simple enough to be on a lapel pin.
My favorites:
#55 - appeals to me because the logo with and without the words is strong and identifiable. I see the falcon and circle as worldwide, not only as a logo, but an emblem. I could also see me proudly wearing the logo (without words) as a pair of earrings, or even as a bracelet/necklace charm, etc. With the words, it is simple enough to not distract from use with other designs, photos, etc.
#47 - The flying falcon and buildings hits home. I can see me wearing this on a shirt, pin, ornament, etc. Anyone walking up to me in Rochester seeing this design will know who are connected to. I love it as a design, but is it a multiple use logo?

I, too, like #54 for the same reasons that Joyce mentions. Number 47 is certainly personal but, I think, is too "busy" for a logo. Maybe just one of the buildings? My favorite for "feel" is still #54, if the image could be re-worked to make it less abstract and more identifiable as a falcon.

I wish #54 were more birdlike, because it is such a strong image.
They are all pretty good, but none of them conveys the idea of a nest cam, which is what Rfalconcam is. Maybe something with the wings of a falcon echoing the Times Square wings?

I like 47 and I could see wearing it on a T-shirt or On a coffee mug. On my monitor the letters are gold not orange (as someone said above). Maybe the buildings could be a little more faded in the background. Not sure what that would look like.
To me a lot of the rest seem more like a sports team logo. A few are nice but seem more like an eagle than a falcon and no I didn't get the numbers cause the only one that really grabs me is 47

I agree BC, #47 sure says Rochester and I love how the buildings are faded in the background and are the 3 most frequented, especially Mercury!

After many years of faithful service,
we
decided it was time to retire our Kartoon Kaver in the Egg logo.
I'm just curious as to who these faceless "

"We" refers to the members of the merchandising committee who haven't been able to raise more than $100 in the last 3 years on merchandise featuring the current logo. (In contrast, items without the logo have raised more then $10,000. I'll let you do the math.) The committee members are also regular members of this Forum. They can speak for themselves.
Also as the chairman of the Website Operations Committee, I can say that the current logo's aspect ratio, scalability, and color scheme limit what can be done to improve the look and feel of our web pages.

Since changing the logo for any established brand is dicey, I appreciate Shaky's explanation for doing so in this instance. It will be interesting to see if the change makes a difference in sales. I admit to having bought nothing with the current logo on it. With the exception of some Birdorable items, my purchases have been more specific, like my Mariah and Kaver ornaments. I don't think the images on any of the things I have bought would make good logos. For me, at least, there is a significant difference between brand identification (logo) and what I choose for personal use or display. I wonder if that distinction is shared with others and how much it accounts for the $100 vs $10,000 difference in purchases. In any event, I think we need to keep the purpose of a logo (quick brand ID) in mind as we look for a new one.

Thank you, Shaky, for your prompt and informative answer!
I didn't even know that we had a Merchandising Committee...nor a Website Operations Committee...for that matter! And, oddly enough, neither do a reasonable number of long-time members I asked... Hence my "we" question... Learn something new every day!! Are you guys so modest, that you don't inform us about all the hard work you are doing on our, the group's, behalf? Is it necessary to live in Rochester, so that you can actually get together for these committees? Surely not! With the communication wonders available to us in this modern age...
Any other committees hiding out there? Perhaps, to add to an already amazing number of section choices on this Forum, maybe there should be a
Committee Section
(Website news doesn't really catch ones attention for this kind of continuous hard work!!!), so we can actually see and realize what all these industrious, committed committees/committee members are doing for the good of all of us -- gee, maybe some of us would even like to participate on some of these committees -- we have many talented people in our ranks!! How are these members chosen? Do they volunteer -- but surely not, when many don't even know there are committees... Are they hand picked -- like for a club? Or maybe many members of this group are all on committees and I, and a number of long-time members, just haven't cottened on...
Well, work hard, you Committee Members, whoever you are! And a HUGE Thank You!
Anne in Toronto...

I agree with Joyce. This is a simple, beautiful image which would make a very classy piece of jewelry. The logo with words is clear and not too busy and highlights the word "falcon" and also includes the word Rochester, which most of the others don't.
