Pictures from Sunday of Quest and Skye

As promised, some pictures of Quest and Skye taken on Sunday during our visit.

The first three are of Quest and the last three are of Skye.  Both birds were relaxed in the morning sun and comfortable with each others presence.  As you can see in the photos, Skye is sitting next to the nest box and he has been accepted being there.

I feel so bad for Kendal. 

I think she (Q) is just hedging her bets, she doesn't know whats happened to Kendal. Like our girls during the winter migration of the boys. As long as Kendal is strong enough when he comes back and his recovery doesn't take so long Skye gets too comfortable all will be well.

I wonder about migration.  Kendal does migrate and unless he is released at 1000%, he could perish during migration.  I hope the Wildlife center takes that in consideration.  He could make a late migration and be stronger for the extra time at rehab. Or if someone is flying south a bit later, they could release him further south... maybe even a car ride south....it won't be the first time.....

He leaves for a few weeks but not on a migrate. He just goes!

Quest is usually scarce in her usual haunts for a few weeks too.

my guess is he goes to the lake like he and Quest were before they found their nest location, nice spot to catch the migrating prey birds

He's been eating just fine BC, no problem there. Just waiting for the wrap to come off to see if his fracture set properly. Should hear something soon!

Only 14 candles were lit for Kendal when I checked a few minutes ago; I lit a few more for him.

Kendal is doing OK but he has a long long road ahead of him. That's all I know.
