Talked to MAK before her therapy session. This surgery was more involved and her recovery will be a bit longer. She has staples instead of sutures, (as she was rejecting the sutures the first time). If I know the MAK-ster, she will make sure she heals quick and will do what it takes to get back on the falcon watching track!! Good luck girl.

Nature Rules!

wave Hi everyone! Thanks for the kind words. I came out of anesthesia much more alert than the last time and thought ok this a good omen. Unfortunately my pain is much more intense this time around. My surgeon visited me this morning and explained that this knee was in really bad shape compared to the other one. There was a whole lot more bone spurs to remove, more inflammation and arthritis and he said the alignment was totally out of whack. Therefore the surgery was more involved having to do a lot of sculpting of the bone to straighten my leg. As Donna told you I have staples this time as my body rejected the internal sutures the last time so there will be more drainage and also the drainage tube came out after the incision was closed so I will not regenerate my own blood in case I need a transfusion like the last time. He also told me the recovery time will be longer because of these factors. So I guess I'll have to be that much more determined. With support from all of you that should not be a problem. Thanks again and keep smiling!   Grin

Hey MAK!  Look who heard you were on the 'puter!

I'm sorry to hear you're in more pain this time, but the end result will be well worth it.  Still sending healing thoughts your way!
