I think your deductions are quite logical Carol.  No harm in keeping this guy around and at arms length either just in case the worst happens and Archer doesn't make it home, backup that feeds you is always good  Wink

I've been told that a female will not chase out a male while she is waiting for the return of her mate.  Like you said, they need to keep their options open, just in case their mate does not return.  and the gifts of food are always good!  lol

lol The bow of "backoff"!  I like it!

Like I said, this is just me thinking out loud after watching their behavior.

Hopefully the Watchers will be able to get out this weekend and we'll know more about what's going on.  Yeah right!  lol

Beauty has been lying down in the NB most of this morning.  She spent an awful lot of time in there yesterday too.   Is she okay?

This is my personal opinion, so take it for what it's worth...I think Beauty is "going through the motions" of what her body is telling her she should be doing at this point in the year even though she doesn't have eggs to brood.

Someone (MAK?) found an article about an apparently infertile female doing something very similar.  Not saying Beauty's infertile-just didn't lay eggs & her hormones are out of synch.

She's acting normal the rest of the time, so...something we're learning about as we go.
