I don't know other than Rochester, NY, but a beautiful picture.  ??? Who used to take great hawk pictures in a cemetery, it was a long time ago.  I've been down here 4 1/2 years already and think I still lived in MN.

Lou took the hawk pictures in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
I remember the ones from Lou, but I was thinking a gal took some before that and am drawing a total blank on her name.  Nancy something MAYBE?

I don't recall those...

You know with all the excitement of the past few months I had forgotten about her foot and she's certainly not let it slow her down at all which really proves she's truly healed  wub2

What is "Mute"?

Mute is the word for falcon excrement.  Shocked

What is a “Falcon squash”?  devil

When the juvies need to take a break, they sort of just squash down on a ledge or rooftop for a while. You’ll see their wing tips sticking up. Don’t be alarmed - they are just resting.

What is an “Assist”?

I’ll use this term when an adult bird “helps” a juvie in flight. It could be the first flight or a subsequent shaky flight. An adult will fly closely alongside or underneath the juvenile to guide it. I have never witnessed body contact but I would assume it is possible. The adult will often try to force the young bird to a safe landing as it guides it either up or down to that spot.

Just in case!
