Indeed! We must really keep in mind that this isn't about who WE like. Or who we think they like or don't like. It's about who will be the mate who will be most likely to produce healthy offspring.

After checking the markings, in my opinion this is not Dot.ca. This tiercel does not have the distinctive white above the cere.

Are you kidding me? Another male with a black band with a Y?? Why would B go in the nest with him, took her long to go in with UT?? Boy, they sure do know how to confuse!

Now that I looked longer at the pic, I did not see a white cere, I was too focused on the leg band! Saw the Y and yikes!! Looking for the heart mustache too!

I have them up side by side on my pc - a photo I saved from the cam last year of him and beauty in the same pose and looks like DC to me...I uploaded to flickr but it won't allow me to uplaod the full size so you won't be able to tell but the markings look the same in that position.  The difference today is in the primaries...something looks funny in the back end but if he's been scuffling that would make sense.

And I'm reserving judgement. His head is moving in the one main cam shot, so the white cere could be obscured. There were times last year I did a double take because it wasn't clearly apparent.

I know this probably isn't funny...but at first glance when I saw that shot of Beauty and her stance and face...my first thought was she was looking like 'oh crap he's back'.  

Just trying to find something to smile about; hopefully tomorrow will see all Rochester falcons safe and sound.
