That nest box is old, perhaps it's not solid anymore.

Not just old...the first ever original tray used by Pounce-Kingsley and Victoria. The gravel may be solid and the wood isn't.

Anyway-an on time egg in an odd but safe spot is just fine.

It is an egg.  BCAW got photos of it earlier that I missed.  Go here to see them, clear as day:

Then I guess she was brooding it when Carol originally saw her get up. Yay!

It does look like she meant to lay it in the tray and it went over the side. Will be interesting to see where she lays #2!

It looks like an egg to me. It was not there earlier.

Rhea Mae spent some time outside the tray:

Then she moved back to the corner of the tray, and the egg-shaped object was visible where she had been.

This seems very unusual for Rhea Mae. I just hope she is okay.

It's definitely an egg. Carly posted a link to BCAW below that shows it clearly.

Well at least we have an egg.  I hope RM is okay too.  In all my excitement at seeing an egg I didn't realize Terka had another shot of her right before she laid it and she was standing in the box.  It's been a strange week.

I'm sure she's fine. Just too close to the edge. This is her most common date for a first egg.

I see that Kris. Looks like they moved it into the scrape they dug at the corner outside the nest tray.

Looks like she's got it in a perfectly nice scrape down there.

Egg #2 arrived at 8.48 - she is perched on the edge of the nest box and bent over and out it came.  Right next to Egg #1.  clap
