Looks a bit of a salmon color, like the under wing of a shafted flicker.  Do they have such woodpeckers in Canada??

Oh yes they do nycbird. When we were visiting Quest I made a video of her mate Kendal plucking and eating one. The link is in my Toronto watch report under falcon watch blogs if you want to check it out.  Grin
