Another rather cold, windy day!  But there was a lot of activity with Rhea Mae and Tiago chasing turkey vultures, ring-billed gulls, delivering food to the eyases, making passes to show the eyases how flying works, Sunshine flapping around on the ledge!  Sunshine kept us on our toes, as so many times we thought she might take off, but she jumped back into the protection of home at the last minute!  It was really good to see the Rochester 4!  But was very sorry that Joyce and MAK had such troubles and I didn't get to meet them.  But was very relieved that they were not injured!  And tomorrow is another day -- hopefully Sunshine will decide that the wild, blue yonder looks good enough to explore!  And that she does it safely!

!!! No Fledge, a repeat of yesterday
June 12, 2011 - Toronto - Sheraton Centre
Linda Woods Reports:

Sunshine is hanging tight to the nest ledge. Flapping and running of the ledge seen today and late this afternoon. The most activity this evening was around 5:30p.m. Rhea Mae took prey to the roof top of the Sheraton near the west side. Tiago flew in to see what was for dinner. The then flew off to the Antenna. Moments later Rhea Mae took the food pack to the nest ledge. And that was it , aside from staring out the nest ledge. The adults have been busy today running off Turkey Vultures today;

At 8p.m. all was quiet and had not seen any of the kids for a while now. Weather is cool, breezy and somewhat overcast. Adult were not in view of the chicks. We decided that, “she’s not going this evening� and closed the watch for the day.

I think Sunshine may have taken off!  She could be hiding...they are VERY good at finding cubby holes on that ledge...but she was running back & forth, flapping & flapping...in and out of the openings.  Hope we get a report from the ground soon...

I saved that one too, but she was still there for a bit after.  I last saw her down past the stand pipe in the opening with her wings out & down.

She's usually right out in front. Uh oh! Just saw an adult in there too on the cam box at the other end. Missed saving it.

I caught it, but if I don't get my work done I'm gonna be in serious trouble...I was just about to post an adult came in & did a head count...
