Aaaaand Carina's down! Currently in our CEO Donna's office. Kimani still MIA. ANXIETY!

Kimani's gone missing. A few of us Harlequin folk have been out and about searching for her and Mark's on the watch right now. She was placed on the Harlequin roof last night and couldn't be spotted this morning. Ack: hoping she's found a safe place, but not so hidden away that we can't find her!

Thought you guys would be interested in seeing an up-close pic of our first fledgling: Kimani! She came to the ground at lunch today and a couple of Harlequin employees located her and Kathy (or Cathy?) from the CPF came along with her towel and gloves and scooped her up. Mark Nash came out and we checked her out for injuries. She seems ok! They'll attempt to get her situated on top of her building, or the Harlequin building later this afternoon/evening. Excitement!

Pyramid 'O' Fluff!

Sorry for the false alarm. One of my co-workers convinced me she saw two! I can clearly see one right now, though. Ah well...we're ever-hopeful! I saw breakfast arrive when I got in this morning and now Kendal's hanging by the egg while Quest is currently out of sight.

UPDATE: Kendal just scared off three Canada Geese flying too close and Quest is now enjoying brekkie on the upper ledge.

TWO mating attempts today! One on top of the building, and one on the SE corner! Now they're sitting pretty close to each other. One in the box and one the next ledge over. (Smoking cigarettes, I think. ) Yesterday Quest flew right by my window with a fully intact sparrow in her talons. I probably didn't need to see things that close-up, but...I guess it has to happen...eeps.

Things *are* happening!

Hi y'all! Donna messaged me last week and asked where I've been! Well, I'm still at my Harlequin window seat, looking out over the nest box and enjoying the Q&K fly-bys, but I've taken on new work in the past year or so and I haven't had a lot of free time. Then, the past few times I've tried to log on over here, I couldn't remember my old login/password info. Anyway, I've figured it all out and have FINALLY managed to log back on and here we are!

Q&K are currently sitting side-by-side on the east side of the building, looking rather chilly. I guess you can tell from the cam that we've got some snowflakes floating around out there. I'm so very ready for winter to be over and it seems that they are, too!

In any regard, hope all is well with everyone here. I'll have to do a bit of catching up on past posts. And, look forward to Spring Sprung-ing!

Am at work on a Sunday (yep!) and am hanging with Q&K. Just caught Quest letting it all hang out: sunbathing!

Yeah: they did the other building last year and started this job in the spring. I've contacted Mark this a.m. and he says he's liaising with the Ministry of Natural Resources as well as property management for that building. I guess it all comes down to money and scheduling with the contractors. Really kind of sucks, though. I know the concrete protrusions are deteriorating, so it does have to be done to save the humans (!), but am worried about the falcons, too!

(To their credit: the contractors did work their way around the sides and back of the building while the young-uns were finding their wings.)

Not happy this a.m., as the workers who are removing the protruding ledges all around the falcon building have started on the front of the building this morning. I saw three falcons going a bit nuts in the air this morning, so I don't think they're pleased about this, either! Will try to find out if the CPF is aware this is happening. Don't know why they can't wait until the fall to do this job. Sigh.

Amora's looking a little wary on the top corner of the building as her two siblings are testing out their wings!

So glad to hear Mark rescued Amora last night. I was chit-chatting with him after work was worried about her during the night, as we had quite a bout of rain. Anyway, nice to see the three all huddled together on the corner of their building this morning! So cute: they must be exchanging stories of their adventures in flight. As for the camera man, I think he's on vacation right now, so am not sure if anyone's around to take over....
