Beauty looks so tired.  Is she fending for herself as far as food?  I haven't seen DC bring her any gifts.
He is spending time in the scrape at BS, but spends only seconds at the NB with B.  He meets Beauty "on the fly"  as they say.  Poor Beauty.  If she does lay eggs, will DC provide for her?

I believe she looks tired because she's getting ready to lay eggs. Egg lethargy is typical.

What a difference a year makes....

Sure does!  I have a framed picture on my desk of Beauty in the same pose as the second pic.  She is beautiful!

Thank you for posting this, Ei.  A reminder of how far the Beauty-ful one has come.   She looks fierce and gorgeous and in control this year.  She is quite the warrior princess isn't she?

The following link is for an album of Unity and Archer when they had a scrape in a pile of old dried up pigeon poop at Kodak Park. She lives in our hearts forever!  heart

Sad Cry WOnderful pictures of Unity and Archer.  Both are not here now, but neither is forgotten.
She was quite striking wasn't she?  She seems longer or taller than Beauty.   And Archer  is just a cutie.
Reading about how Beauty came swooping into town last year makes me think that part of the animosity that DC displays is because of what happened last year.  It was an uneasy alliance then, and it remains that way now.  Who says birds don't have memories?  I actually believe they do have memories.  I see it in my own parrot.
Thanks for posting the pictures, MAK.

I was very happy to do it Margaret! Joyce and I both got the pics of Unity that day to finally ID who she was-and on a sadder note, I was the first watcher on scene when Unity was hit by the car. Bittersweet are my memories of Unity.  heart

You win! It's Beauty!

But, to be honest, I might not call positive ID if I weren't watching the live streaming & recognize her voice.  I know it's her in this picture, but the voice confirms it.

You wanted this one...

When you want to test us, always go to the archive to be sure you have the one you want  Wink

However, there are clues here too...the peachy-pinkish tone of the front feathers...

But I will usually wait for the bird to turn before a positive ID.
