Once, and it was so notable that I posted it.
M&K had predominant sides too. Kaver on left, Mariah on right.

I think this is what happens most of the time. Dot.ca goes into the nest box first. He's busy scraping on the left side, when Beauty arrives to supervise from the right side. They have a little beak to beak chat session and usually Dot.ca leaves. Beauty then does some scraping herself, getting it just right! Then she stands over the depression, making sure it is perfect for her soon to be eggs. Once she is happy with it, she steps out to the perch and does a little preening and snoozing.
