For anyone concerned about Genesee still being home looking for food this time of year, here are two old posts I had done back when Big Frank (ie) came home looking for food and hung out with mom back in 2013. One is dated today -2013 and the other September 24.2013. At the time I was worried but look at her now!

Cam 5 was the Powers nestbox, and it looks like it always did, so yes, I would say this is the Powers nestbox cam resurrected. Thanks, Shaky! It may not be optimal viewing, but it's better than nothing.

Not good for us but obviously B and DC prefer it right now and that should tell us something. I expect with 2 new pairs next door and the loss of an offspring this year has had them rethinking their location. They know better than us what is good for their continued survival and things may be or have happened that we haven't witnessed. If you take the box down now, you risk them either relocating elsewhere or potentially losing their territory to another pair - like I said they must have a good reason for moving. I think pefa's have shown us over the years that they are intelligent and have the capability to adapt to new threats. Offering them a choice is a good thing.

We visited the Powers box last week to gather data. I managed to get one camera working again while there. It quit before anyone noticed it online. Building management went up there this morning to reset the equipment and got the camera working again.

Our Internet connection at Times Square building is a bit sporadic this afternoon. Hopefully it will straighten out soon.

Thanks to Powers Building management as well, then.
