Yes I remember that back in 2013. I recall it crawled away from her and she just left it there and didn't even try to get it back under her so she knew it wasn't well. This little one - so far - looks and sounds good and she's keeping it tucked close to her. Talons crossed, it stays healthy.

I remember that and last year was an awful time for her. Praying she has at least one do well this yr.

Dorothy in the news again!!
Dorothy, the age-defying and possibly record-tying peregrine falcon on the University of Pittsburgh’s Cathedral of Learning in Oakland, celebrated Mother's Day by becoming a mom for the 43rd time

Dorothy's stats by Kate St. John
Various numbers were listed in the news articles. Here are Dorothy’s statistics: At age 16 she has laid more than 55 eggs of which 44 have hatched and 42 have fledged (flown from the nest). We don’t know the exact count of her eggs because her first nest was hidden. This chick will be counted as her 43rd fledgling when it flies.

Amazing! There are only a handful of falcons that do this well. Go Dorothy!

Read on FB that it was a non-viable chick that Dorothy has removed from the nest..saw pic of her removing it on FB.
The egg has been cracked a couple days, from what I've seen.

It just happened early this afternoon, Deb. They say it looked like Dorothy broke the shell..they're going to check the archives.
