I was really happy to find O'Connor. We have had many moments together, that girl and I, and the folks in Ohio where she is from were very happy to hear of her resighting. She is one of the young from Bandit and Chesapeake in Akron and has been kicking butt up here every since she arrived.

If this is the Yellow Pages building in Scarborough (I think) near Toronto, this would be Linn and Reuben's nest. I don't believe they have a webcam. But maybe they do now.

I think I recall Tracy or Big Frank mentioning that they were working on getting one there.

I think I saw this site before the nesting season started. I was very surprised that they used
run-a-crush instead of pea gravel or river rock. Poor babies feet.

Linn & Rueben have chosen to nest on an open, gravel covered roof. I don't believe they have a nest tray of any sort. They keep switching spots, so there's no consistent place for CPF to put a tray.

The North York peregrine that Bruce Massey has been seeing has finally been identified. Full sister to Infinity, she was banded at the Statler Buiilding in 2008. She's hanging around Yonge and Finch with an unbanded male. Maybe another New Yorker nesting???

Update on the North York Peregrines!!
May 18, 2012 - North York - Nest
Tracy Simpson Reports:
Bruce Massey has been watching a pair of peregrines in the Yonge and Finch area for the past several years but they have not raised any young nor settled on a territory. It would seem that things may have changed for the pair as they have been sighted now using the Trans America building at Yonge and Sheppard with great interest as well as the North American Xerox building at Yonge and Finch. What makes this new development so interesting is that there appears to be a change in the bonded pair as the female has been identified as a banded yet unnamed 2008 hatch from the Statler Tower building in Buffalo, New York and a full sister to the female who last winter lost her territory at MEC known as Infinity. She is currently bonded to an unbanded adult male and is seen most often in the Yonge and Sheppard area.
To this point, the female has always been an unbanded adult and this change may herald a new interest in nesting. Bruce believes that the pair did make an attempt this spring at the North American Xerox building but it failed to produce any young. Right now Bruce is seeing only one adult at a time and will continue to work on pinning down just where the pair is showing interest.
2008 Hatch Ely With 4 Chicks
May 22, 2012 - Toronto - King Street
Frank Butson Reports:
Ely a 2008 hatch at the 18 King St nest, has 4 chicks with her mate Dipper. They nest on the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. This makes 4 more “grandchicks” for Windwhistler and Erin!

!!! Sad news to report. First mortality of the season!
May 22, 2012 - Mississauga - Executive Centre
CPF Postmaster Reports:
May 22nd-2012
We have sad news to report. The first young juvenile took its first flight today, but sadly it was not a planned first flight. Ledge hopping had the juvenile named Jennifer - (banded Black 56 over X) come up short from one ledge to the other and a guest of wind had it in the air in a panic flight struggling to hold its altitude. In an effort to catch some air, it turned and with a tail wind slammed into the windows of MEC #1 and died on impact.
56 over X was picked up by Bruce and brought back to the CPF Raptor centre for holding until it can be transferred to the OMNR at our next meet. MNR has been notified.
The other two MEC siblings are all doing fine and still on the nest ledge.

Oh no, so soon. This is the worse time of year, fledging, even though this was not a fledge. So sorry.
