Its awesome news. I did cheer when I had 3 falcons in the air at the same time! Janet is getting smart going East of the nest area, as the new female doesnt really perch facing that way most of the time, so less likely to see Janet take flight. Janet is a strong flyer and all that is happening right now will help her survive in the future. We are hoping the Mom will return ASAP and help dispatch this new female. I dont believe advanced training can occur with the new female present. I cant see how food transfers Sante to Janet could happen, so this must be resolved. As soon as we know more about Rogues condition we will post. Unfortunately between us being busy and other circumstances we havent gotton an update. Hopefully today. Be assured she wont be held longer than necessary and no matter how many other fledge watches are going, 4 or 5 are set to start June 6th, we will have someone monitoring when Rogue is released.
I know many of you do watches and understand but for those who dont...we have been onsite from 530am till 11pm. Bruce has taken days off work(holidays) to be there at 530am. He has come after work on days he didnt take off and been there on his weekends. Tracy has done at least triple duty. She wakes earlier than she wants to, drives me to the MEC site(and soon Islington and Bloor),returns to do a day job till 4 or 5pm,goes to our raptor centre and feeds and cares for the 12 educational birds, drives the hour back to MEC to finish the watch with me and then we drive home the one hour. Remember these are volunteers! I know this happens at other fledge watches with other people, but these are "my" (CPFs) people and it needs to be said just how dedicated they are. People call them crazy..they are.. it really does help. We have had new helpers and they are going to be helping at other watches too. We get community help that is so encouraging. We are for the birds..and proud of it. There is no other reason to be in the streets for 16hours a day.

Well said Frank, and I think you guys at CPF are the BEST watchers and guardians of Peregrines. Continued success with Janet.

BigFrank, you folks at BPF are just awesome!!!!! I have only been to the Sheraton site and only once at that (Saw Tiago from about 18 inches away and was smitten!). I was amazed at how you all have to navigate distance and skyscrapers and multiple sites to make sure these peregrines are doing ok.

Update on a successful MEC girl - same dad as Jack, not sure about mom as she's not banded and neither was Jack's mom. Given she was born in 2003 and he in 2002, likely they are full brother and sister but could be half. Sal - their dad is a son of Madame X and her prior mate - so connect the dots on that one
