Just a few hours after the first eyas hatched, a second has arrived at 11:38 am. We are egg-static!
Under the watchful eye of his/her mom Beauty and everyone watching the live streaming video, a very small young Peregrine Falcon made its’ way into the world!
Welcome #2!
Now we continue the hatch watch, waiting for a 3rd eyas to arrive!

We have a hatch! At approximately 6:08 am this morning, eagle-eyed watchers witnessed a very early morning hatch. Falcon fan, Carly, caught these two pictures of the appearance of Rochester’s first eyas of 2018.
While this tiny eyas (baby falcon) was working hard to break out of its’ shell yesterday, Rochester was under a high wind warning.
Here are some pictures captured by the RFalconcam cameras. You can just get a glimpse of the newly hatched eyas. Be sure to click on them to enlarge the picture.
Oh, look who just visited! Dot.ca wants to see! Soon he will bring in a meal and Beauty will feed the eyas for the first time. 🙂
Thank you for tweeting out the good news Donna!
There are still two more eggs, that should hatch soon. If you go to our streaming video, you can watch all the activity of this year’s falcon family!

Sadly, one of Beauty and Dot.ca’s eggs was removed from the nest box this afternoon. It’s possible it was not viable, or may have been damaged in some way.
There are still three eggs remaining, that should hatch soon. We’re looking forward to being able to watch three healthy eyases thrive under the care of their parents, Beauty and Dot.ca.

April 3rd, 2018
Sometime early this morning, Beauty laid her 4th egg in the nest box on top of the Times Square Bldg. I believe it happened around 4:30 am.
Dot.ca came in at 6:36 am with breakfast for Beauty. That’s when we got our first look at all four eggs!
Congratulations Beauty, Dot.ca and all their virtual egg parents around the world!
Posted in Rochester Falcons | Comments Off on Egg #4 Has Arrived for Rochester Falcons Beauty & Dot.ca – 4/3/18
April 1st, 2018
A third egg arrived a little earlier than we expected Saturday afternoon at 5:37 pm. Beauty usually averages between 58-59 hours between eggs. It was only 54 hours between her 2nd and 3rd egg. Nothing is ever certain in the world of the Peregrine Falcon! 🙂
Easter morning Dot.ca brought in breakfast for Beauty and we had a nice look at their three eggs before he covered them.
If Beauty lays a 4th egg, it should arrive sometime late Monday evening or??? Who knows! We’ll just have to wait and see. Stay tuned!
Happy Easter! May it be a peaceful one!

Right on schedule, Beauty laid her 2nd egg at 11:14 am!
Dot.ca had offered her breakfast this morning, which she declined. 🙂

If you fell asleep last night before midnight, you missed the arrival of Beauty and Dot.ca’s first egg of 2018! We had our first view of the newly arrived egg at 12:02 am. Of course we’re all very egg-cited to see it this morning. It’s a sure sign of Spring!!!
We had a nice look at the egg when the sun came up.
Dot.ca brought a food gift to Beauty. While she left to eat her breakfast, Dot.ca watched over the egg.
It didn’t take long for Beauty to return. Both Beauty and Dot.ca will take turns guarding the eggs.
Congratulations to Beauty, Dot.ca, the Rochester Falcon Watchers and Fans!

Thanks once again to the generosity of our dedicated falcon supporters, we raised over $2,300 yesterday, including a $1,000 bonus for the outstanding teamwork demonstrated by those who stayed up late to make their pledges at just the right time. Well done, folks!
ROC the Day officials will send us a financial statement and donor list sometime in the next few weeks, at which point we will know who to thank individually. Until then, thank you to everyone who donated. Your contributions will be used to fund Rfalconcam operations and improvements throughout 2018.
