I found Beauty around 7:30am on the Bausch & Lomb (B&L) building as I was checking from Woodbury Blvd. on the east side. She was plucking feathers and I was too far away, so I drove over to St. Mary’s Place and pulled over next to Washington Square Park. That was closer but there was a tree branch between me and the Beautyful one so then I went around the corner to Court St. where I found just the right spot.
Beauty finished eating after 15 minutes or so then she did a lot of feaking. After she was done cleaning herself up she perched for a few minutes before flying off to the west. The pigeons lined up on the Court St. garage below her were relieved I’m sure.
I caught up with Beauty as she had flown to the Times Square building (TSB) under the southeast wing-I parked by the Blue Cross Arena on Exchange Blvd. just before 8am to observe. She didn’t stay long as she flew off to the northeast at 8:05am
Once again, from Woodbury St. I spotted Beauty on B&L -this time she wasn’t alone. Dot.Ca (DC) was on the other end of B&L southeast corner with his back to me. I went back over to Court St. where I had been earlier. Beauty was on the southwest elevator and hopped to the back of it like she had food to cache. She came back into view and stayed perched for a few minutes before leaving while I watched DC.
After she left so did I so I could find a place to see the front of DC. I pulled over on Broad St. next to Midtown and what a view I had of his huge, bulging crop!
There were some mum planters around Xerox which I couldn’t help but notice. I was really surprised DC didn’t tip over with all that weight in front. lol
There was work being done on Midtown and it was quite loud at times, well one big bang and DC was off at 8:57am. He flew northwest and I headed straight ahead to the Broad St. bridge.
I discovered DC under the northeast wing of TSB. I went down in the hole and parked behind He’s Chinese.DC was looking straight toward the Frontier Communications Tower (FCT). I followed his lead and drove over there after a few minutes shared with him.
I stopped on Fitzhugh St. and barely spotted Beauty on the southeast cube with her back to me. This wouldn’t do, so I checked from every angle and finally settled on the City Hall parking lot right next to the building as the best look at her.
I left after a couple minutes believing that she and DC would rest and digest. As I made my way down Seth Green Drive I spotted a falcon flying around the south end of the building, it flew northeast and disappeared. I checked all sides of Seneca Towers but there were no falcons to be seen, so I ended my watch at 10:05am with a smile knowing our downtown Rochester Peregrine falcon pair had eaten well on this Saturday morning! 🙂
