Morning Falcon Watch 11-3-15
Tuesday, November 3rd, 2015By Rochester Falcon Watcher MAK
Another sun filled watch with bright blue skies and a temperature of ย 47 (F) 8 (C)
Billie and Seth were on the north end of Seneca Towers (ST) top window ledge as I started my watch at 6:45am from East Ridge Rd. I got a quick glimpse of his right leg with the yellow tape before he turned his back to me and settled in.
I spent 15 minutes with them before Billie flew off at 7:02am on a hunt to the east. Seth stayed behind until she returned a couple minutes later with prey in her talons. She flew back and forth in front of him with it and then he flew off and followed as they both went around to the west side of ST where I couldn’t see them-they were heading south.
I checked the rest of the building and Hawkeye on my way downtown but never found them. I suspect they may have gone down on the Veteran’s Memorial Bridge as they like to eat on the south side ledge. I arrived on the Andrews St. bridge around 7:30am and found Beauty on her northeast cube on the Frontier Communications Tower (FCT).
I drove over to Fitzhugh St. by the Sister Cities parking garage for the best view of the Beautyful one after checking the rest of the structure for Dot.ca (DC). He was a no-show today.
There were a couple pretty trees over by the Frontier parking lot so I had to take a pic as we are past peak and the trees are getting bare around here. Beauty was busy looking around and preening.
I shared space with Beauty until she spread her beautyful wings and flew off to the southeast around 8:30am. She didn’t return and I didn’t find her again after that.
I found a couple more pretty trees in my travels as I checked the Medley Centre, Hawkeye and Seneca Towers-I saw no Peregrines at any of these sites.
I ended my watch at 9:20am smiling from having a nice falcon watch in such nice weather conditions! ๐
